Apocrypha: Chronicle of the Wind Listener — Chapter 3

Chapter 3: The Visiting Shadows

One day, people from the town came to him, wrapped in shadows.

The shadows appeared as fatigue, impatience, loneliness, excessive expectations, unquenched thirst, and unspoken anxiety.

The Wind Listener did not drive the shadows away. They were not evil— they were simply forms of misalignment.

He adjusted the fire, adjusted the air, and adjusted the quiet.

Then, the shadows naturally began to fade.

People were astonished. “What did you do?” they asked.

The Wind Listener replied, “I did nothing. I only helped you return to the place where you truly belong.”
